Chassis/Engine Repair / Re: how do I know if my fan is working correctly?

Bernie,

We have an '01 Intrigue #11238 which we bought new and have had the same questions.  If yours has not been modified, if would still have the Sauer Danfoss controller?  If you unplug the power to it, the fan will default to full RPM.

After replacing several S-D controllers, I finally installed a wax valve. It's a much better solution.

If you want to talk about the issue, call me:  562-743-6858

Chassis/Engine Repair / how do I know if my fan is working correctly?
Last post by journeyman -
I've been told that the radiator fan on my Intrigue uses about 40 HP of engine power at full usage.
A 40HP fan should be REALLY loud (almost like jet engine loud).

i do not hear the fan over the engine noise.
How do I know if the fan is working correctly?
error codes? something else?
Is there any way to monitor the fan to see if it is working correctly?

Thanks in advance.

Chassis/Engine Repair / 2005 Allure Click-No-Crank
Last post by macraekw -
Hello fellow Country Coach road warriors!
I loaded up the coach to head out to Colorado on Sunday and it would not start and the solenoid was doing a rhythmic clicking.  Did the following troubleshooting steps and want a sanity check as to what is wrong:
1. checked the chassis batteries terminals - clean and tight.
2. checked battery voltage - 12.7v off shore power
3. load tested the Lifeline AGM batteries - tested good with no draw.
4. checked battery voltage at solenoid - 12.7v on shore power. 12.2 and decreasing off shore power
5. jumped the large lugs on the solenoid - motor spun freely but did not engage the flywheel
6. thoroughly cleaned the large ground cable and terminal at the rear of the starter motor - no change
6. connected a remote starter to the small terminals on the solenoid - solenoid clicks rhythmically
6. tapped solenoid with hammer - no change

Seems like a bad solenoid to me but I was wondering if there is anything else I should check before replacing the starter motor and solenoid.  The transmission pad lights up, is in neutral and the dash instruments function.

General Repair / Re: Generator Issues
Last post by ajcole -
My generator just stopped, when started again would run for a couple of minutes then quit.  Changed the oil and filters and was check fuel pump when I changed fuel filter looked and sounded good.  Still same problem, ordered new pump and R&R it.  Works fine now.

General Repair / Re: Replace steering gear box?
Last post by ajcole -
Replaced my steering gear box on 2001 Magna, what a pain.  The box weighs about 110 lbs.  Had to buy some tools (everything is much bigger)  Did the replacement in the driveway, no choice since the seals blew out when I pulled in.  Took a whole day on my back and a good floor jack.  Bought part through Weller Truck Parts.
