Title: 2003 Country Coach Intrigue for sale
Post by: Bob Kumza on July 23, 2009, 01:27:12 pm
Yahoo Message Number: 49999 (http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Country-Coach-Owners/conversations/messages/49999)After 6 1/2 years of fulltime RVing, we have finally found a place to call home and have purchased a home north of Tucson. I want to keep the motorhome as it is in excellent condition, but my wife wants to sell it and buy something smaller for shorter vacations. She insists that we don't need a 40' diesel coach for just a few months vacationing every year. So despite my better judgment, we are putting the coach up for sale. I know the pictures won't show up on this forum, but the words are all there to describe the coach with all the features and upgrades. If you're interested in the coach and want to see the pictures that go with the words, send me an e-mail and I'll send the pictures. Here are details of our 2003 40' Country Coach Intrigue Suite Sensation and a list of options and upgrades. Note the extra awning over the living room windows... great when we want shade but don't want to put out the big awning. The Tracstar dome TV satellite is a full "in-motion" dish capable of receiving TV and satellite radio while driving down the road. Custom color-coordinated nauga-hide wheel covers protect the tires from UV damage and keep the aluminum wheels shining like new. The Motosat Datastorm satellite internet system has been recently upgraded with the newest D3 controller and UCB upgrades. We ordered the 2 slide model because it has much more storage space in the living room and kitchen along the passenger side wall. The 3 slide model doesn't have this storage. The Ekornes chair and sofa were upgraded to sand colored ultraleather. The kitchen table extends about a foot to make a larger eating area when needed. This Intrigue floorplan has the biggest kitchen we found in any RV -- great for cooking and baking lots of goodies. We really LOVE the GE Advantium oven we ordered with our coach. It works in several different modes -- as a microwave, convection oven, regular oven or speedcook oven. The slot between the shower and washer-dryer cabinet is a perfect spot to store the custom made ironing board (wrapped in a blanket). A vented Splendide washer has been upgraded with Stainless Steel water lines (to prevent possible bursting with age), and a solid aluminum vent has replaced the factory slinky exhaust vent enabling much better air flow and faster clothes drying. This model Intrigue comes standard with a queen sized bed but could easily be modified to accommodate a king size if desired. The hanging clothes closet is a full 8 feet wide and goes across the entire width of the coach. The office work area includes a pendaflex file drawer and lots of storage space. RV refrigerators don't keep the food cold enough during hot weather because of poor air circulation over the cooling coils. I built a custom fan manifold and added three 12V cooling fans that keep the frig cool even when the temps outside are over 100 degrees! I also added two high volume cooling fans to the outside of the frig to maximize exhaust of hot air from the back of the frig and aid in the absorption cooling process. Combined with the fans in the frig, these really work great! Wireless temperature sensors monitor temperature in the freezer, refrigerator and crisper to ensure foods are always fresh. I added custom made walnut faced adjustable shelving to all the 14 cabinets in the kitchen to virtually double the usable storage space in these cabinets. Sliding drawer trays in kitchen make it easy to store pots and pans. Upgraded all the electronics equipment and installed a DVD Recorder to copy VCR tapes onto DVDs. Also added a thermostatically controlled cooling fan to cool the electronics in this cabinet when the temps get too warm. Upgraded the DirecTV receivers to the latest models, and replaced the old Winegard switching unit with a new Super-switcher capable of handling all the newly installed electronics. Also added another thermostatically controlled cooling fan to cool the electronics in this cabinet when the temps get too warm. The Dimax unit enables copying of "copy protected" VCR tapes to DVD. The TR-40 digital converter enables reception of new digital TV through the existing Winegard batwing antenna. Installed a 3 point latch upgrade to both pentaflex bay doors to ensure secure weatherproof closing. Dual directional full extension 8' long storage trays installed in both storage bays make it easy to access all the storage bay contents. Installed lined shelves (to match the Country Coach factory lining) with integrated high strength angle supports (to keep the shelves from drooping over time) in each of the 4 storage bays to permit storage in the normally wasted space in front of the beam (shown here with lawn chairs and table stored). Installed glamour lighting under the entire coach to provide night time walk light for walking around the coach at night without using a flashlight. This lighting is also controlled by a remote control from my car and can be turned on remotely as we drive up to the coach at night. Also, I scrub the bottom of the coach every year and reseal any necessary areas with top-quality Ziebart brand undercoat. All batteries are maintenance free AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) including starting battery. Also note that I added a second gas strut and matching hardware bracket to every bay door -- Country Coach only had a single strut on most bay doors and the second strut holds the door open securely even in windy weather. Custom installed Hughes 3-stage (5%, 10%, 15% boost) autoformer plus integrated Surge Guard provide the best protection possible for spikes, sags, surges, lightning strikes, missing ground, reverse polarity, and over-voltage and low voltage situations. Includes Blue Ox Aventa II 10,000 pound rated tow bar and hook-up for M&G Engineering towed air braking system. The Blue Ox underskirt keeps rocks from damaging my tow car and neatly stores under the Country Coach bumper when we are camping. The Travelsoft water softener does a great job of keeping the shower, toilet valve and water sensors from accumulating any hard water deposits. In stores perfectly in the propane bay. The extra entry step also stores in a secure location in the propane bay. Installed an expanded steel floor in the propane bay that permits required air flow for safety, as well as storage for wet carpets, entry step, water softener, leveling blocks, and extra propane tank. I use a Porter Cable polishing system to routinely buff and wax the coach to keep it looking like new. This picture shows the mirror like finish of the paint on my bay door. Installed gutters the full length of the coach to keep rain water and dew from streaking the sides of the coach. I routinely buff and seal the roof with Terminator polymer sealant to keep it shining like new. The built-in Wilson cellular antenna conveniently folds down flat to the roof when traveling and extends far above the coach roof for maximum reception while camping in remote locations. The built-in cellular 3 watt booster further enhances signal strength when cellular reception is weak. Dim*it brand interior sun screens are mounted inside the windshield and stay clean and mildew free and don't need a ladder to install or remove them. Installed new Koni FSD gold shock absorbers to improve ride and handling on bumpy roads. Also, a General Ecology water purification system removes all water contaminants so we never worry about water quality as we travel from place to place. I'm a fanatic on coach maintenance as I believe we should be good stewards of the gifts God gives us. For example, I've done 7 oil and filter changes in just 26,450 miles -- that's an average of only 3,775 miles between oil changes, while Cummins recommends changes once each year or every 18,000 miles on the ISL. All maintenance on the coach and generator have been done at least as frequently (and usually much more often) as recommended by the manufacturer. I upgraded the transmission fluid to all synthetic Transynd and also use 100% synthetic fluids in the axles and differential. I upgraded all the interior lights to higher output 12v double-bulb fixtures to give brighter light for reading and installed additional lights in several bays. I also carry at least a years supply of all filters necessary to properly maintain the coach (oil, fuel, coolant, generator, etc). Factory installed options and features ordered on this coach include: 400 HP Cummins with 2-stage internal Jake brake 8kw Onan QuietDiesel generator
2000w RC7GS Trace Inverter with Generator Auto Start feature the "03" Occasional Table upgrade in Living Room Computer desk with pendaflex file drawer in bedroom Ultraleather Ekornes Chair and Ottoman Full wall mount cabinet module with cantilever (no table leg) integral sliding dining table with free standing chairs GE Advantium oven
12 cu ft side by side Dometic Refrigerator Beveled strip mirrors in vanity, kitchen, and dining areas Polished brass interior package

The transferable extended 7 year warranty covers the entire coach and expires on April 22, 2010 or when the coach has 50,000 miles on it (current mileage is 26,450). This is a summary of the coach and many of the upgrades. I'm sure there is more that I forgot, but it's a good start. If you need more information, please let me know. Asking price: $195,000 including extended warranty and all features described above

Take a look at prices at this site, too many rigs on the market with many at bargain prices. http://www.rvregistry.com/used-rv/Class_A_Diesel/Country_Coach/ (http://www.rvregistry.com/used-rv/Class_A_Diesel/Country_Coach/) Ray
