We have an 04 Magna (Bob Lee 30th Anniversary Edition) that needed to have a transmission cooler added in order to have the transmission not run too hot. We recently had some work done that required the radiator et al removed. When the people doing the work put the transmission cooler back on, they evidently cross-threaded the connection and thus we have a very small leak. They think we need to replace the transmission cooler but we cannot identify the manufacturer, and since, of course, CC has no record (even though the factory did the installation under warranty) I am hoping that someone else, who keeps better records than I, might know the manufacturer. I believe it was a California company, perhaps the one with whom CC had so much trouble with their radiators (we have had 5 of those, BTW.) Any help appreciated.

I think it is Hayden Mfg. 1-800-762-4244. I used to use their products. They are in Riverside CA just of the 91 Fwy, and have been there for years. I had thought about adding one of their coolers to my unit, but until you asked I had forgotten their name. I think I recall post way back on CC working with them. I do not believe they ever made water cooled type, but not sure. Big company.

Please let me know if I was correct?

CC put a transmission cooler on our coach. It was a Hayden.

Did it work? The Hayden Trans. cooler?

Yes, it works so well that now that my fan controller is kaput and the fan runs continuously I can't get the transmission over 170 degrees and most of the time it is at 150. What it needs is a thermostat like the engine so it only uses the cooler when the temp exceeds 180. So far I haven't found a transmission cooler thermostat that works in a 1" line.

While I am still not exactly certain who manufactured my transmission cooler, thanks to this forum I think we are close, and I think it is Hayden, their model 1015.
Spoke with Radiator Specialties and they were very nice and informative. They "probably" built the original radiator/ transmission cooler combo on the coach, but they do not make a separate, air cooled transmission cooler. Thy refer to theirs as a "cooler in a box" which is installed away from the radiator, They mentioned my unit might be a Hayden.
Hayden was also quite helpful. Joe Martinez there (951-736-2665, ext.7546) could not be certain but the unit he described closely resembles the one on our coach. Won't know unless I go ahead and have them take off our current unit, which is a very, very slow leak, and replace it with the new unit.
This week we are replacing our 5-year-old Toyo rear tires with Michelins (77,000 miles and still good, we loved the Toyos, btw; replaced the front tires at JC in spring of 2008) and we should be good to go camping for the fall and winter, before the snow arrives here in Montana.
So, for now, end of story. Thanks to all who had ideas!
