Has anyone found a good source for the catches that keep the drawers closed during transit?
These are the gray plastic gizmos that snap into the rear of the slides that have a spring loaded catch that holds the drawer closed.

I think a tech called them "spiders".

Accuride has a "LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY." Check them out on the web. I have gotten several replacement "spyders" from them.

About two years ago I called Accuride and talked to them about the high failure rate of those locks and recommended they make the little spring loaded plastic gizmo out of metal. Never did get a yes or no on that question, but they did send me six of the plastic lock assemblies at no charge.

Earl, I also called Accuride a couple of years ago to describe the problem with their spring loaded gizmos, they asked me if had had the dark brown or grey units, I said Brown they asked me how many I needed, I said six (6), they sent them to me at now cost.

Jim When they sent mine there were grey and brown in the same bag, don't know the difference in the materials except for the color, but I think if the spring loaded part was steel, they would not wear as rapidly

I had two fail - ordered new replacement units through Rockler online.
Easy to replace the units. You can go out to Rockler and order at www.rockler.com
I was not aware of the lifetime warranty from Accuride or I would have tried them first. Good luck.

Well I'm communicating with Accuride, sending them pictures etc. and hope they can identify the correct part number and send us some.

If this works I'll post the numbers and contact information.

Jim, That would be great, I don't think I have any more replacements and I have two drawers that won't stay closed anymore.

Jim

Below are my notes on Accuride
1. Telephone 562-903-0380 (spoke to George)
2. email: technical@... (technical@...)
3. The part was called Self Closing Assemblies for the slide model 3832HDSC (heavy duty self close)
4. You can see the part on the Web site: http://www.accuride.com/Woodworking/Product/Details.asp?ProductID=44 (http://www.accuride.com/Woodworking/Product/Details.asp?ProductID=44)
Hope this helps.

Thank you Jeff -

This is about the same place I finally arrived at. After a phone contact I e-mailed them pictures of our slides and the part we needed.
They responded with: "Model 3832HDSC assemblies will go out on tomorrow's regular mail at no charge."
I hope they're sending just the gray plactic spiders and not the full slide assembly. I'll post a note next week when they arrive.
These things wear out rather quickly but it sounds like Accuride will continue to replace them for free.

I just received a bag of the grey plastic spiders from Accuride at no charge.
There was no paperwork or individual part description, so I assume if we ask for the catches for model 3832HDSC slides we'll get the correct parts.
