I just noticed the the upper bolt on the rear drives side holding the shock to the chasis is sheared off inside the collar. We are in Halifax, Ns and were planning on leaving out tomorrow. We came thru some really bad roads from PEI, so I'm assuming that is were the incident occured. I have 2 questions. The first is should I drive back toward the US before having it repaired? Second, does anyone recommend a repair facility here or in the NE? I have a 36' 98 CC Intrigue.

If you can't pull the top of the shock off (which I doubt you can) I think you can drive with the broken bolt. Any truck stop should be able to remove the shock. Ya need a replacement, depending on the mileage, I'd replace both rears. I replaced mine with Koni, adjustables from the Shox Warehouse. Not hard to do with an impact wrench. Getting the broken bolt out may be a trick, not much room to work with the rear tires on.

The top of the shock will not come off. I also figured I would replace both rear shocks while I was at it, as the coach has 60k miles. Thanks for the recomendation and where to order them. This owners group is a great resource for information. I would also like to know if anyone has changed any of their dash gauges over to digital from analog (ie temp, oil pressure, volt ect)? There are a couple of heavy duty truck repair facilities in Truro, NS on Hwy 102 at exit 13. This is about 50 miles from your location in Halifax. When we were camped their, an 07 Magna, on a Track tour, had to be towed out of the campground because of an engine problem. We saw their rig from the freeway and it was at a facility that had a big Volvo sign on the end of the building and a lot of semi's in the yard. As you head north towards Hwy 104, it's on the right between exit 13 & 14. I also understand that there is a Freightliner shop in Truro.
We are traveling a similar route as you. We are now in the KOA near North Sydney waiting to board the ferry to Newfoundland on Monday.
We have so many new rattle's, squeak's and other scary sounds after traveling these Canadian roads. Their roads make our California roads seem like glass. They say it's the winters. We say it's the lack of maintenance over many years. They don't get this bad in a couple of winters.
