I'm here to tell you we used all that "awkward-to-store equipment just in case I need it" because we needed it this spring!
I tried one front slide, it went out 3 inches and stopped. So, duh, I tried the other front slide . . . again 3 inches and it stopped.
In our case we have an HWH hydraulic system for 4 slides, which lost all fluid when a hose separated in the system, in Mobil, AL, in the midst of 3 days of rain, which made it impossible to see the leak as it occurred, . . .and 1,000 miles from home!
We found all the needed directions in our owners manual to use all the equipment, talked to HWH and Country Coach, diagnosed the problem and they walked through the procedure to crank them back and we a got both slides back in! It took a few hours and some blisters but we got her done! IT WAS NOT FUN!

I am now an expert at this!

Anyone wanting detail let me know, as well as how to avoid the leak, assuming your set-up is the same as ours.
