Recently lost our cel service which gave us no dead spots, roaming or ld charges in US Canada and Alaska (MCI Woldcom) and still looking for a replacement. can anyone recommend a services that they have not experienced dead spots anywhere they go?? I'm now convienced that Verison is the worst.

Read the lastest version of Consumer's Report/Digest. They actually disagree with you and indicate that Verizon is the best rated. That in it's self is scary, What are the rest like?

We had Verizon Nationl plan in the past and had coverage over most of the West. It is not their America Choice Plan. The National Plan offers fewer minutes for the same cost than the America Choice.

I think that Verizon has improved recently. Last year I experienced a lot of dead areas. Before I left Texas on Dec. 24, I had my phone "updated" to include all the recently added towers. I had a few analog areas on the way west, but did not notice any dead spots. I think that it will continue to improve. Last year I had considered getting an additional phone to hope for more adequate coverage but at this time, feel that this is not necessary. I even have an analog signal where I am 120 miles south of the US border.
But, I understand that the charge from here is $4/minute, so I have not tried it!
