At the FMCA Rally in Indio, I spoke with a Girard rep. Discovered a little more about the operation of the awning, which has prompted me to make an adjustment. (Actually they said they would drop by Emerald Desert, but we never connected, so I will make the adjustment).

The arms are spring loaded. Without any fabric, the arms would be fully extended. The fabric keeps the arms from fully extending, until the motor unrolls the fabric.

My awning did quite well during a recent rain, with the water draining to the rear. Had a little pooling which concerned me.
Also the fabric seem to flap in the breeze too much.

Turns out the limit switches needed adjustment so that it did NOT unroll too much fabric. The unrolling should stop just as the arms fully extend. With this adjustment, using the out-limit +- adjustment on the motor, I expect I will have no pooling of water.

The fabric was unrolling so much that it was laying on the arms.
Now is is taught.

My awning will go out fine. When I get ready to retract it jumps a little and stops. I had a friend tell me to push middle button on remote 3 times and it will reset it. That did work, but it has happend again. Any thoughts on what might be wrong?

Awning starts in a few inches then stops. We end up getting it in after several attempts. Any ideas?
