I have an '08 inspire in which the drivers side of the windshield has cracked, there is no sign of damage and appears to have cracked on the interior of the glass and I assume it is a stress crack. Has anyone else had this happen?, If so did you have a successful repair (new windshield installed) and what was the cost and who did the work.
Chuck (2008 founders Edition Inspire) With the exception of my current problem, the most perfect of the five coaches I have owned.

A gravel truck did a number on my windshield in 2007. Had it replaced at Lazydays for $1200. Checked b/4 hand and was quoted 800+. A think it depends upon where you are in the nation. It is worth checking.

I just had my windshield replaced by RV Glass Solutions, 888 777-6778. Check their web site. www.rvglassexperts.com

Make sure that when you get your windshield replaand your stress crack Will come back. The sealant used in coach windshields has some give to it because of the flex that comes in the front cap. The coach needs to be level when the windshield is replaced and then sit that way for 24 hours for the sealant to cure properly.

If you insure your vehicle in FL the state requires the insurance company to replace any broken windshield with no deductible whatsoever. So check with your state. Also, the insurance companies know the cheapest and best, well, cheapest anyway.

Bob,

I am sure you meant to say register and insure in FL. Just a minor point. FL, SC and MA are at least three states that require windshield replace be covered with zero deductable. I guess there are others but I don't know which ones. MA will not allow the insurance company to increase your rates but I wouldn't do too many as something is going to break.

Funny you should ask. I had a top to bottom crack appear in the passenger side of my windshield. No external damage, and it appeared while the coach was parked. I am waiting for the windshield to come in (should be in the next few days) and will then have it replaced. I will obviously know more on cost shortly. I am hoping the installer might have some insight into why it cracked.

Chuck -

I have had 2 cracked windshields on my 2008 Inspire. Bottom corner on the driver's side. The first time it cracked, we were parked at our son's home in Colorado. We had been there for a week; woke up one morning and it was cracked. The coach had about 1200 miles on it. We drove ot Florida, where it was replaced. Drove 200 miles north, were parked, and it cracked again, in the same place. We ended up driving back to CC where, after pulling our dash assembly out, they found a cross-member that had not been trimmed (it was about 1" too long). That caused the front cap to be out of square, hence stress cracks. After trimming, the replacement window fit perfectly. Third windshield has worked out, we have over 21000 on the coach now, and no problems (knock on my head). Coach Glass in Eugene did the last replacement.
