Traveling from Pensacola to Palm Beach tomorrow. Could any of you Florida hands tell me if I should take the turnpike down through Orlando, etc. or go over to Jacksonville on I-10 and dowm I-95? Thanks

Rich

We just traveled form Jekyll Island, GA to Key West. We elected to pick up the turnpike at Ft. Pierce because another member of this forum suggested that the lower sections of I-95 tend to get pretty crazy which is credible to me based on past experiences. Ft. Pierce to US 1 at Florida City costs us $26.40. For that we got lower traffic volunm and very few big trucks. The downside is frequent toll stops in the Miami area.
If I were coming from the panhandle as you are, I would not go way out of the way to go through Jax. I would come through Orlando and get the turnpike.

George,

I went to JAX on 10 since I needed to stop at Camping World in St Aug. Came down 95. Was fine. Mostly 3 lanes which is nice an majority of road surface very good condition. In Jupiter now. Will be heading to Keys in a week and will take your advice.
