Like many CC's owners with a pair of 20" Hadleys, I have been embarrassed to honk. It was like a beautiful girl opening her mouth and this squeeky voice makes you cringe. No more.

I am now proud to put in my ear plugs and blow my no..., I mean my horn. The sound? Fabulous!
There was a perfect space on the drivers side firewall immediately along side the genset. The horn mounted like it belonged there with the business end pointed down at the road surface. The power slide closes and nicely encapsulates the entire horn like it was designed for it. The air hose and fittings were all readily available at my hardware store.
One suggestion I would have and will do, when the horns blow the 29 goes off first and the 20's follow a half second later. This is due to the delay in the air reaching the 20' as the 29 is only 16" from the horn solenoid. I am going to put a coil of air hose equivelent to the distance to the roof on the 29 so all the horns get air at the same time.

I'm an air horn freak and had the same problem with the embarrassing sound of my factory roof mounted horns. I installed a PAIR of 37" Grovers (#CX 1054), slung under the front of the coach. Makes her sound like the Queen Mary. Next to those, on a seperate button is a set of Nathan P-5's taken off a wrecked Southern Pacific locomotive. Makes her sound like a, well......'nuff said. The same seller also has rebuilt Nathans available if your a little insane, too (like I am).

Now that is a great idea! I purchased from a truck supply house, a 3-horn set that is tuned to the sound of a "Train Horn". You would swear that there is a train coming or passing you. It is so loud that the echo comes back at you after releasing the switch. I mounted it in front of the drivers feet, just outboard of the generator, angled down and forward so that the sound will come out just aft of the front fiberglass nose cap and pointed forward enough to reflect off of the highway and towards the "threat". It is wired separate of the original Hadley's, with a spring loaded switch, which I mounted on the driver's side left console of switches. Easy to use, and easy to not use if it isn't needed.

I was south of Lubbock, Texas, coming down to the Fort Worth area one Sunday morning, and a little old lady entered the highway about thirty miles per hour. She was on the back side of an overpass, so was not visible from my vantage point, and a cattle truck was passing me on my left. This set up the "perfect storm" of traffic for the day.
I hit the horn and brakes - the truck could not see her so did not know to help, and I re-arranged everything in the lockers and refrigerator braking to miss her. Great brakes on this Country Coach. She continued on her merry way, dressed in her church clothes, giving her husband hell the whole time (I assume 'husband', as he looked like he was hunkered down and practiced at weathering the storm). I got close enough so I could not see her rear bumper, but managed to not hit her. A scary horn may not have made a difference, but the stock one did not make any impression on her. I doubt she ever saw me. Thank goodness I always drive the speed limit or slower.
I know there are drivers out there that no horn will reach, but since I plan to put the MOST EFFECTIVE horn on a separate switch, would you choose the train, marine or truck model? Maybe the deep bass fire truck horn, if legal for non-fire trucks?
The trucker felt bad about it when he saw all this develop, but there was nothing he could do.

Jack, I would install whatever you believe will do the best to get the attention of the other vehicle to keep from having an accident. I believe that a deep bass sound would work best, but chose the train horn as I never fail to notice a train horn whenever they are around. Remember being parked in Junction City?

When I drive through busy town areas with people merging on interstates, I try to drive in the left or middle lane to avoid these problems. I move with the left lane traffic, however, not below the speed limit. I consider women like that to be engaging a form of natural selection, however.

I am sure her husband would agree with you, glad I was not the agency that fulfilled her Darwinian goal.
I normally drive away from traffic entering the freeway too, but it was a two lane freeway, a cattle truck was passing me on the left, and the dingbat was hidden until the last second. That Sunday there were exactly three vehicles in view, and we all met within a 200 yard stretch of road at 60 MPH +-. On a three lane highway you will find me in the middle lane, mostly.
