Okay folks, I am now officially in a panic mode. After three snow storms totaling over 50 inches, shoveling, plowing and getting winched from my barn, I have a new problem 36 hours before I'm scheduled to leave for the keys.
I've been having trouble with my echo charger and have had to cancel two appointments due to the snow. However, coach always started with the boost switch. late today, when I went to start the coach, once again I used the boost. As I turned the key I heard a loud piercing sound from the area of the dash but the engine would not turn over. When I looked at the Xantrex remote panel, the battery state was on low, the inverter LED was off, the charge LED was off and the fault LED was solid red. I could not tell if the overtemp LED was lit or just bleeding off from the fault. The coach is plugged in to 50 amp and only the fridge and a small catalytic heater (set to medium) were on. When I hit the inverter and charge buttons, they came on and the fault LED went off but I haven't tried to start the coach again.
I've been reading the Xantrex manual for over an hour and can't make heads or tails of it, Remember that my mechanical ability is less than zero. The coach started fine when we moved it from the barn to my driveway three days ago.
Can anyone help me. I had to cancel my Keys trip last year due to a broken wrist, I really don't want to cancel it again.
If someone wants to discuss this on the phone, drop me an email (geklima@... (geklima@...)) with your phone number and I'll be glad to call you back.
Tanks in advance.

George, my first thought is to put a battery charger on your chassis battery. The echo charger might not be doing the trick in such cold weather. Also, if your chassis battery is original, it might be time....

In the interim, I think the generator will charge the chassis battery which at least might help get the engine started? Or, at least use an external charger. Also, there are some inline fuses close to the echo charger that should be checked. After that "loud peiercing sound" I would peek under the dash with a flashlight. The top curved part of the driver's dash comes off real easy with three screws on my coach, which exposes most of the wiring in the area close to the ingnition switch. I would also check the inginition box fuses in the outside bay under the driver's seat.

George:
I have a copy of the Echo Charger manual I can attach to an email if you would like. The manual has a troubleshooting section which might be helpful.

There's a copy of the Echo charger owners manual in the file section of this forum. Here's a link (http://f1.grp.yahoofs.com/v1/cL52SzcNDqG1P8ttQdztSRuXrxJRnUcudqvZxXXUBUGQzZbC8pBFyhOgLbCOzP35x1m8w7PPEOACgXJmIjs0EvbkHG4/Digital_echo_charge_Xantrex.pdf) , but if this doesn't work, click on FILES on the left side of your screen here and you will be directd to the FILES section. Scroll down about half way and you will see the manual.
