I am going to apologize up front if I offend anyone with this post. It is certainly not my intention to.
My wife and I just recently purchased a 1998 Intrigue #10557. I stumbled accross this Yahoo Group by accident. We were reading about the upcoming rally in Kerryville. We cannot attend that one but we heard that there may be a rally coming to I believe it was South Carolina later in the year. We talked about attending that one but there is one thing that may change our minds about going. Here comes the possible offensive part, What is the average age of the attendies. We are in our late forties, our kids are grown so we are going into early retirement. We don't want to feel out of place if there is a large age difference. And again its not my intention to offend anyone. We would prefere to hang out with people more our age. We had spent a weekend in our popup some years ago at a Thousand Trails Campground and felt very much out of place. Not because we were in a popup but because of the age difference. We met some very nice people that weekend but it didn't change how we felt. Are there many people that are in our age group at these rallies?

Thanks for any input you may have.

I'm in my mid fifty's, my wife is in her mid forties, we've made friends at CCI rallies in the mid thirties, the "party" people seem to be between 20 and 80!! I'd highly suggest you attend the South Carolina Rally if you can, you'll make lot's of new friends and you'll have a blast. PS I'd also suggest you get plenty of rest before the rally, you'll need it if you want to keep up with the members who are over seventy-five, they really know how to have a good time!!

Steven, my wife and I also were in our forties when we starte coaching, you will find people your age and some of us that think we are still young. CCI is make up of a lot of young thinkers, I think coaching keeps us that way. We have member that still have children in high school. You will have an absolute ball at any CCI rally you are lucky enough to attend. If you have not yet, got to the CCI web site and join. http://www.countrycoachclub.com/ (http://www.countrycoachclub.com/)

We've met folks from their 30's to 80's, most are post retirement age. The size of a rally has some effect with the very large ones usually involving some input, demos, etc of products, coaches, etc. Usually CCI rallies are primarily social in nature. We meet for meals, go out to whatever is available in the area and there is usually a business meeting of some kind by the host chapter or club. Those who drink do, those who don't, well, don't. When the company ran things there might be a pet contest of some sort but, so far, no softball tournaments or touch football games. Golf, of course.
I am sure if there is something you want to do associated with a rally you'll find someone with a similar interest as there is time to do whatever you want as well as organized gatherings.
Not sure what else you want to know. No one is purposely excluded or included based on age - I've never been asked.

Steve and Jane,

No offense intended, so none taken. My husband (75) and I (74) are CCI and FMCA members, but, while we won't be attending any of the CCI rallies this year it's only because we are so actively involved in life that we're kinda "over-booked!" We aren't "snowbirds," but only because there's no snow in the South and we are both avid downhill skiers. We belong to a very active club here in the northwest and attend as many rallies as our schedule permits. We also intend to join thousands of Coachers of widely varying ages and interests when we attend the International FMCA Rally in Redmond, Oregon, in August this year with some of our dearest friends (who are 15 or 20 years younger than we). Oh, and, by the way, our son and his wife (in their 40s) are about to buy their own Country Coach, so that they no longer have to "borrow" ours. I hope you'll decide to join us, because I know you'll find that Coachers are one of the most inclusive of groups out there. And, if you do join our ranks, for Pete's sake, try to keep up!!!

Greetings Vern & Glenda:

That is probably the most cordial and kind email I've seen in months! You folks are exactly the people we found at the CCI rally in Albany, 2009. Never enjoyed a rally more. We did find, though, that WE had to be brave enough to go over and meet a new couple or group in order to discover we were immediately embraced, spoken to as friends, and be drenched with stories, suggestions, and offers ranging from brownies to assistance with repairs. We enjoyed the NWCC group so much we joined them on the spot with application and $. We're new at this life style, yet consistently find our outreach yields so much warm response. We urge anyone new to a rally to screw up their courage and make that leap of faith, because 9 out of 10 will result in new friendships and good advice.

I was in my early 40's when I started going to CC rallies. Turned 66 this week, and still trying to get to all rallys I can. The greatest % of people you meet there you will find have the same interests, and you should have fun. There are many your age who seem to keep poppin up at these rallys. Me myself, when I look in the mirror, I just know that somewhere in the old body is a young person wondering what the He-- happened. I feel young still, and enjoy most everything that goes along with these rallies. There is usually always something for everyone! Hope to see you at one some time. Dale Morris 91 Savanna # 4702
