Heading to Banff this summer for a week. Does anyone have a recommendation for RV parks in the area?

Thanks

We stayed at Tunnel Mountain. It is a big publically owned facility with some hook-ups (I'm not 100% on sewer, but they do have a big dump station). It has spectacular views and is right near town. No reservations, so we timed it to get in on Monday morning before 10:00.
Many people come in late and then wait overnight for a spot. The staff is very helpful in getting a space. As I remember, the spaces in the trees have sewers, but no views or TV reception. We stayed out in the open with a veiw of the mountains and it was great.

There is a more conventional park in Canmore (you can find it in Trailer Life). It is kind of blah, but ok. Canmore is really a cool place with better eating and shopping that Banff.
We drove the rig up to Lake Lousie for the day. If you take the older road there to Lake Louise you will come accross an unbelivelable creek running down through a rocky gorge with fantastic pools and waterfalls. They have attached steps to the side of the rocks hanging out over the water! Take your camera.

Kananaskis has an RV park as well and the surrounding beauty is unmatched (great golf too, but times are difficult to get).

Hi Dean,

We were there this past summer. We enjoyed Restwell RV Park in Canmore better than the stay in the Banff RV Park. The views are better and you can walk into town. Don't miss going to Jasper. Whistler, the government park, just outside of downtown Jasper and was the best park we stayed at during our 4 month tour of the Northwest.

Thank you Chuck, Denny, Todd and Joyce for the pointers on Banff campgrounds. Looking forward to the trip.
