I just ran into this site when I was looking at used coaches. Seems like some of the members of the Country Coach Group who are looking for new toys might be interested in this. I have no connection to this site this is not commerical for me, but it is a interesting concept. The link is http://www.luxuryasset.com/ (http://www.luxuryasset.com/) John D. 02 Royale

I have my coach for sale on Prevost-stuff site and someone has shown interest in a trade for property located in Fairhope, Alabama, this property is listed this link http://www.luxuryasset.com/ (http://www.luxuryasset.com/) does anyone know if this is a good area? Is it located next to a chemical waste dump, or a paper mill? Looks nice in pictures but??? Any input would be appreciated.

John,
I'm still not sure how this thread works. I live in Daphne, about 8 miles north of Fairhope on the eastern shore of Mobile Bay. We love it. Fairhope has been voted the best retirement town in the USA. It is a Colony. Depending on where your prospective property is located, this could make a difference in the way it is titled, taxes etc.
Also, AL is one of those states where the motor home is taxed as a truck.
Post the address and I'll go look at the property. If you want more privacy, send me an e-mail at greenrl@... (greenrl@...) or call me at 251 626-3942.

Fairhope is an excellent area. It has an artist theme and is located on Mobile Bay half way between Pensacola Fla and Mobile Ala. Their are some authors of renouned and artisans of all types. It is also located close to Foley Ala which is a large out-let Mall( probably one of the largest in the south). It is a short distance from Gulf Shores Ala., which is a seashore of some renoun. Hope this helps.

The center of Fairhope is about 1.4 miles from Mobile bay, I am not eactly sure where the city limits are or where the property is that you are talking about but the Fairhope is considered by most to be a nautical town. It is however Hot in the summer except when there is a breeze coming in off the bay. It is definitly something I would consider looking at. I for instance am in Pensacola, actually 30 miles from downtown and on waterfront property. Fairhope is well situated and enjoys a good reputation.
If you like I will check further but I know for a fact that there is a Fairhope munciple pier.

John,
I just found Fairhope on the atlas, seems to be away from the crowds, is that correct? Could this be a lazy little town or is it in a busy area?

It is a lazy little town, not too far from Mobile Al. kinda like strolling thru the old south. there is an old Hotel, overlooking the water where eveyone goes for Sunday Bunch and there are a number of new Golf Courses in the Area. They make Things like Old GrandFather Clocks and it has a number of Art Centers for tourist to visit. No night clubs or tourist high energy things there but they are not far away at Gulf Shores and Foley. Many festivals in the area though-out the year like Forrest Gump shrimp festival at Bon Secour, Sogwriters Festival and National Shrimp Festival at Gulf Shores, Sausage Festival at Foley Al. and Lastly the Arts and Crafts Festival in Fairhope during the month of March. I would say the crowds are limited to a few weekend out of the year and the rest of the time it is a quite little town.
Hope this helps, there is info on the web under mobile eastern shore or Alabama but it is limited. The Only way to get a real feel is to visit the place. You would not even know it exist in this area except by word of mouth and reputation.
