Recently, for no apparent reason, our bedroom slide (Motorized, not hydraulic)started to make a very loud sound when we would open the slide. When I checked the positioning of the slide, the right side is very tight (can hardly get my fingers between the slide and the coach wall) and the left side has more room....about 3/4 to 1 in opening between the slide and wall. The opening is still protected by the rubber seal, but more open than the other side. Also, there is a visible difference when you look at the slide from the outside...the slide appears to stick out about 1/2 in. on one side.
There is absolutely no problem opening or closing the slide. It appears to open and close very easily with no indication of a problem until it gets to the complete open position when I hear the very loud metallic sound. Our concern is that the slide might not be locking entirely, so we have placed a brace in the slide when traveling to keep it from accidentally opening. Don't know if this is a possibility, but don't want to take a chance.
We live in an area that does not have a good motorcoach service center available, so we were wondering if there is anything we can do to fix this problem until we can get to a service center. Thanks for any suggestions.

My electric slide sound was like a pop. It was a loose bolt that was hanging up then letting go. Once tighten all has been well. Noise came with the coach and it took me just over two years to get it fixed, but once done it was done. This was one of the issue in by crusade against the Howard's they were not paying the bills so warranty work like this was hard to get done. When I agreed to pay, it was fixed. Long live the Howard's! and remember this is the year of the VERANDA! Sorry Herb, I just couldn't stop myself, all is cool now, just needed one more emotional outburst!

Does anyone know who manufactured the beds for CC. We opted for the King air mattress and really don't like it. Since the RV king is an unusual size thought I might contact the original manuf. and order a new one.
Thanks, John Bennett #6751

Not sure who but in looking for sheets we found the size to be close to a Hotel King. This can be ordered at any bed store.

John we have an 09 Magna and the bed that came with the coach was a queen size. It is a Standard Queen ( sold in mattress stores ) with rounded corners. It was atrocious with respect to comfort. We tried a few items to add such as a topper from a bedding store and none of that worked. We looked at an air mattress from Camping World and didn't like the comfort or the price. I then looked at the bed itself and at the headboard end there was the name off the company that produced it for CC ( I have forgotten their name but they were from around Portland OR ) . I called , and after some run around got a price from them for a 3 inch topper, which came to 550 $ plus shipping. We decided to go to a regular mattress store and bought a great Simmons mattress on sale for 850 $. It is the absolute best in comfort as you can try it at the store to suit your needs . We were worried that the lack of rounded corners would be a problem , and it is not. We have a fitted bed spread that came with the coach and it is no more bulky than the standard bed it came with , and all the other toppers we added to try and make it comfortable. Try a regular mattress store . This all came in at less money , by about 400$ than the adjustable air mattress from Camping World and with substantially more comfort.

Hi John,

We are going to the coach tomorrow and have the "King" bed. I will see if it has any labels on it to note manufacturer.

The mattress in both my 1999 Allure and my 2005 Intrigue were manufactured by the Slumber Ease Mattress Factory in Marysville, WA, phone (360) 659-8458. When I ordered my 2005 Intrigue, I called and talked to the factory and ordered a mattress two steps above the one that usually came standard in the Intrigue for that year. I don't remember the details now except that CC ordered 6", 8" and 10" mattresses from Slumber Ease. The father up the food chain your coach was, the thicker the mattress was. Mine is the 10" and I think it's very comfortable. Of course, as always, YMMV.

Hi John,

Our mattress is a Perfect Rest by Stylerest. It is 74" x 76" x 10". The mattress is not very comfortable and we ended up puttiing a memory foam topper on it that helped immensely.

I could not find any info on the net about Stylerest.

We bought a Temper-Pedic California king which is the correct width for the king bed in our Allure and about a foot to long. We opened the cover and cut it off with an Electric knife.

John, some quality bed manufacturers such as King Koil will make you a custom length bed for no extra charge. I got a very high end pillow top for about $700. Just go to your local bed dealer and they will order for you.

We were not happy with our matress an wanted a high end matress like we had at home and could not find anything in the size so my wife bought a 3 inch latex topper pad and its actulary more confortable tehn the home bed. It was not a cheep option but i coulnt belive how great it worked.I think perhaps any matress can be made confortable with the latex.
