Two reoccuring problems seem to give me fits: My inverter, mfg. Hart interface seems to need to be jolted into operation due to a loose circuit board. I removed it and sent it to the mfg. under warranty.
They could find no problems. (surprise, surprise!) Now it works intermittently. When it chooses not to work, I tap it with a screwdriver or whatever is available and it works for a while, only to reoccur. Looks like I need to buy a new one. Anyone have similar problems with this item?
My step slide cover only works when it wants to, despite many, many efforts to fix it, including replacing the motor and switch. I have given up and decided to try to adapt an air-actuated cover. Has anyone had similar problems?

Fred is probably correct (he usually is) but from my own experience you could have a low voltage problem.
I don't know which coach you have or if CC made any changes since I had the problem. It appeared that the point at which the power was tapped for the step motor couldn't provide enough voltage to properly power the motor.
Just another possiblity.

The main reason for low voltage (under load) is connectors that aren't tight enough and/or are dirty, corroded.
Not just the +12V but also the ground connectors, as any significant resistance from the supply or return path will make the voltage decrease (when under load).
Usually just 4 points need to be examined (for a single circuit problem): - connection to the fuse.
- connection to the consuming item.
- ground wire and its 2 connections.
The higher the power consumption (wattage, amperage) of the consumer is, the more sensitive it is to poor connections, and likely the place where the consumer is makes it more likely to develop some poor connections (the doorsteps come to mind).
