Do you think enough of your coach that you would buy again even after the company is out of business? We are looking at a 2005 Allure 470 42 ft with 35000 miles. It has had radiator replaced and pto fixed new steering tires well cared for. After being a Country Coach owner if you were in the market for another coach would you buy a good used C C product?

We would buy again. But I wonder if those folks with newer CC's would buy again. With the change of owners did the quality, and thus the reputation, change? So can it be said that all CC's are equal? Is it fair to compare a 'Lee' built CC to later models?

Oh, you bet. I feel now that the factory is gone, we have a much better repair network. The good techs that were at the factory were smart enough and gutsy enough to strike out on their own rather that wait until a job found them. Lots of excellent people out there that weren't available while the factory was there.

We have an '06 Allure and woudl definitely buy again. In fact, now woudl be an ideal time being able to use their being out of business as leverage in the negotiations.

My opinion may be a bit biased, as this is the only RV I have owned, but it has been a very pleasant experience. I knew going in that it had been sitting for a couple of years, so some systems were not working - just a little preventative maintenance and they all work fine. I have a history in manufacturing, and the quality and forethought put into CC has been another good experience.
The only thing I would do different is buy a shorter one, if available, because as a solo I really do not need all this room. It is nice, though. I would also use age of tires and batteries as a bargaining point, as I did not bear down on that when I bought it.
This group is part of that experience - you can find good people to do any maintenance you need, or do it yourself is you feel like you can.
I would do it again, in a heartbeat. In fact mine will soon be for sale, as family health concern dictate I stay planted for a couple of years. When I get back on the road, it will be in a CC.

Yes, I would buy another used Country Coach if something drastic happened to mine or I found one for a "steal". We have lived full time in our 2000 Allure since moving into it in January of 2000. It has been our only home since then and we love our life style. We have had a few problems with the coach, but most of them involved OEM parts (new A/C, etc.), not CC problems. The coach has been relatively reliable considering we don't hesitate to drive hundreds of miles on gravel and dirt roads, almost never stay in private campgrounds (KOA, etc.), and seldom stay in one place more than a few months. We often go three to five months without plugging into electricity. But, we don't sacrifice for comfort (we will stay in a private campground when crossing the country in hot weather). We have been caught in single digit temperatures and upper 90's, but kept a comfortable temperature in the coach.
Our friends tout their own brand of coach (of course), but we note they spend much more time at "the factory" or dealers having repairs than we do. We don't have as many gadgets on our coach as the new ones, therefore have fewer things to break or stop working. All of us boys want more horsepower and love bells and whistles, but I keep looking at my 9.5 to 10.5 mpg, and reaffirm that I am happy with what I have. We don't really need most of the new toys keeping in mind the difference between "nice to have" and "need". If we find one we think will significantly add to our comfort or safety, we buy it. The quality of frame work and construction is, in our opinion, the best in the business competing with the high end custom built coaches.

Hi:

I sure would. I have a trouble free 2007, Allure 470. I enjoy it more than I did my 2003, Intrique 1st Ave.

Look at it like this.... 1) Which company could GUARANTEE a new buyer their continued existence? 2) Most components are the same from coach to coach. 3) Extended "warranties" (their value not with standing) are available for most, if not all, makes.

Cheers, Mel
