Just bought the coach with less than 300 hours on the gen. New oil & fuel filters. Gen. would run for about 1.5 hours running both roof airs - then stop - suspect over heating safety shut off. Didn't get around to checking for a stuck thermostat, etc, we were on a short trip - finally got it started again and it ran for about 5 minutes and the biggest cloud of white smoke billowed out of the gen. area - smelled like hot bakelite - gen. engine kept running but it's not putting out any voltage at all. suspect I burned up the field, armature or both. Going in the shop tomorrow - I really don't understand why it did that and why it seems I have 2 problems unless they are connected. Guess thats like the old farmer said when his mule died - said "he's never dont that before". Anyone had a similar experience or know what might have caused it? This is going to be like old Fred Sanford said "the big one" - guess I'll put a 2nd mortg. on the farm. bojangles5169
