This system, on the 03 Allures and Intrigues, has the pop up screen, and is also the display for the gps and the backup camera.
Every so often, when starting the engine, the screen display does not power up, but stays black. The radio is working, but no display, so no back up camera display, either.
This requires turning the ignition off, restarting the engine, and waiting to see if it will power up the display, or not.
Pioneer tech support thinks it must be an internal problem, which will require removing the unit and sending it in, for who knows how long.
Anyone else have this problem??

Bill,
By chance, do you the Pioneer GPS system too? I think it is the AVC9DVD. Maybe this is part of the problem. If you don't have the GPS, maybe you could check the set-up of the device. I'll bet CC could help with what the parameters should be.

Yes, it does include the GPS, although I have not had it on.
I have gone through the "setup", although it seems that they have fixed the unit so that you do not have to go through the multi-step process any longer unless you disconnect the batterys.
I have talked with CC, and Pioneer. CC gave me a phone number to call for service, turned out to be Panasonic. CC guy then said he forgot the new Allures had the Pioneer. Pioneer tech says it could be internal. Problem is, sometimes the OEM does not know how CC installs items, such as when Jim Rixen told me that the remote service switch for the heater did not have to be on for the plumbing bay loop to be on. Found out the hard way that that was not how CC had set up the system, when, on our first trip, we pulled into Cincinnatti at 7pm in 20 degree weather with our water frozen up.
Thankfully it thawed after turning on the boiler, with no damage.
