I recently purchased a 2004 CC Inspire. It does not have a power cord reel. Does any one know the name, model number and manufacture of the original equipment.

Thank you,
Dan

Dan, for what its worth, stick to the manual cord reel. I've had two coaches with the power cord and they make so much noise you're embarrassed to leave camp in the early morning.
They both squealed like crazy and sooner or later they will malfunction and leave you with 25' of heavy cord on the ground and no place to put it, or 25' of cord in the can with no way to get it. Or, something in between those two extremes.

I also have an inspire and the reel had been removed. I assume it failed. Could it be the factory unit is not reliable? Can some of our inspire owners give some info on there reels?

I have a 2004 allure with a cable master the gears broke in mine when we staying in big bear in the snow. the factory said the gear break in cold weather and the have new glass reinforced gears for replacements. they sent me new gears and shafts for under $50 no problems since then fairly easy to fix

I have 40 feet of cord and when mine broke there is a disconnect lever on the winder that allows you just to push the cord in. as far as noise goes it a lot quitter than the engine running

On the other side of the coin: My reel makes a heck of a lot less noise than the engine idling, and has worked flawlessly for ten years.

Mine is working fine too, from 2003, but when I read of the problems here, I looked to see how easy it would be to access the mechanism. I cannot see any way to get at it without completely disassembling the closet. Any guidance for a possible problem in the future will be appreciated. I have a feeling that if it fails, it might be in a snow storm or somewhere I rather not be working on the coach.

Thanks, Mike, on a second (or third) look I see it now. The screws are covered with carpet, and the closet is as full as closets usually are. Why I packed a suit I have no idea. Anyway, I thought it might be a part of the engine cover at first. Thanks for the head's up and picture.
