I need to get new tires and want the same time to replace my old SmarTire system. I have discovered that the company is no longer supporting the RV and automobile market. That means I will have to go to a different product. Any recommendations?

Al I just looked at the Smartire website and they clearly still have a section for RV's . You suggest they are not supporting RV products. If so, you should state what leads you to make this statement. I am aware that if you have info as to this being a correct statement, than, please provide the confirming info. There are many of us who have Smartire and swear by it. They are the only company that measures temperature at the wheel . To measure the temperature at the valve stem can not be as accurate as mounted against the rim inside the tire. Please provide the basis of your information. The website clearly has a section o RV's

Ron: If you go to the "Contact Us" on their web page, which is http://www.smartire.com/contact (http://www.smartire.com/contact)
You will see this note at the bottom:
(Note: SmarTire products are no longer available in the Passenger Car, Light Truck or Motorcycle markets and the company has ceased support for these product categories. Parts may be available at your local dealer, however, we retain no inventory to support service parts)
In addition, I used the "contact Us" link, sent them a message, and they replied they are, indeed, no longer supporting those markets and ARE NOT SUPPORTING RECREATIONAL VEHICLES EITHER. Of course, if you do not support passenger car you really can't support RVs, because people want to monitor the toad. I have a SmarTire original, and I wanted to go to the new version, but no dice. We have to find another product. Contact them yourself.

Ron,

We had Smartire installed on our coach this summer and we were told by the installer that Bendix, who bought Smartire, will no longer support this product as of the end of the year. We did go ahead with it since the display is usually very reliable and is the major piece that is discontinued. The wheel sensors and parts are the same as the big trucks which will continue to be available and supported. I think they saw the decline in the manufacturing side of rv's and didn't want to burden their cost structure more than necessary. Hope that helps.
Safe Travels,
Kathy

Les Schwab in Junction City still sells Smartire systems. I just had them install the sensors in my tow car.
