Sometimes I read when someone is upset with the questions on this Blog. I do not want to abuse this venue, because it is very informative.
Is it appropriate to ask questions about RV friendly Wal Mart, such as the one in Kamloops Canada

Stan: Kamloops is OK for overnight parking. I live there. When do you expect to be here?

Richard,
We are spending the night in the Home Depot parking lot. We asked at Wal Mart and they said no. Richard our motorhome is 51406, pretty close to yours. This is a great location, we have a great view and could truely called this a resort spot.

We often stay at spots other than RV Parks while traveling, I usually drive late and leave early so if we are on our way to a destination it doesn't make much sense for us to hook up a self contained RV for just a few hours. NO we don't camp at these places or even always put out slides but for a few hours sleep they are great. Many of them i.e. Wal-Mart open early and have good coffee as well as lots of supplies.
Last winter we met new friends at Sam's Club in Sante Fe and spent several days traveling with them. I am sure they could afford to stay at any park they chose with their 42' coach and Hummer toad but they idolize " America , the Land of the Free", and enjoy "Freedom Camping" as they call it. The upside is that they are insisting that we spend a month or two at their home in New Zealand this winter. Several years ago we discovered twenty seven RV's at the Cody, WY Wal-Mart and made friends with visitors from Germany .
A really good resource is www.overnightrvparking.com (http://www.overnightrvparking.com/) . This website list places you can and cannot stay. It covers most of the US and Canada and is updated at least weekly. The data is really current because the owner of the site gives two weeks credit for every new listing you submit.
Happy Travels
