When you change to AMG house batteries do you need to reprogram the charger?

Frank,
Yes, be sure to change the charging parameters to AGM and also make sure the battery bank size is correct. I'm just now changing to Lifeline 8d AGM's for the house only and their capacity is 255 amps each for a total of 510. If your using Lifeline, the paperwork that comes with the batteries states the parameters you should use.

Frank,
I don't know what year your Allure is. My former Allure was 30282 and there was no way to reprogram the charger because the control panel over the front door didn't give you that option. However, when I bought my AGMs and had them installed it was following the 2000 FMCA convention in Oklahoma City. At that convention, I spent lots and lots of time with both the CC personnel and the Lifeline personnel. What they both told me, independently, was that the wet cell charging program would work fine on the AGMs. They said the only difference would be that the last 10% of the charge would take longer if you were charging AGMs with the wet cell setting. I used the AGMs for both starting and house batteries (3 of them) for almost seven years and they never let me down!

I have an 07 #31459, It came from factory with 4 AGM batteries, it was programed "Flooded", There was only Gell Cell and Flooded, I called Lifeline and they said that it was best to leave it on Flooded., so that is where mine is set and has not had a problem, does outstanding.

I would be very surprised if you do not have the capability to change your charging system to AGM type batteries. When I changed to AGM and added batteries to the house bank I changed the charging for both battery type and total capacity.

Dan,
Then, be prepared to be surprised!! Sorry, but in 1999 (constructed 1998) the Allure's "remote control" panel above the door consisted of an on'off switch, that was it. And there was no way to program the inverter at the inverter itself. Trust me, I pursued every possibility for a week while at the FMCA convention.
