We are TTN members, had the membership since 2001, we like it. There are a "bunch" of different contracts available through resale market so you have to be careful, TTN has a "colorful" past in how they sold their memberships. TTN is selling some specials now they may (or may not) be for you. At them moment it seems that prices are fairly consistent through TTN, not so in the past. We paid $1700 for a "basic" membership in 2001 through TTN. I've met people that paid as much as $12,500 for the same membership. TTN is not for everybody, met a bunch of people that are not happy campers. Know what you want and make sure that's what you get and you probably won't be disappointed. From what I see the company seems solvent at the moment but you never know. They are making business decisions that seem smart, which upsets some of it's members. We're not connected with TTN and if we can be of some further assistance let us know.
We are at a TTN park near Columbus TX, just came from a TTN park in Conroe TX. Heading towards Tucson and won't stay at another TTN park until later this year and early next, will stay at Verde Vally AZ then Las Vegas NV.

I recently received an offer from Thousand Trails offering what appears to be a good deal for one section of the country for around $500 per year with no other costs. I didn't buy but if one was just wanting to try it out, this might be the economical way to do that. You could call Thousand Trails and ask them for details.

What a coincidence! I just received another email with that TT offer. Here is an outline of the offer and it is on their website.
How it Works
Year-round Camping starting at $499!
The Zone Camping Pass provides you and your family with year-round camping at Thousand Trails?America's premier network of private campgrounds. Customize your pass by selecting the "zone" (region) you want to camp in, or buy a multizone pass to expand your access. You pay only for the zones you want to camp in. It's that simple.
No matter how many zones you purchase, your annual fee is just $499. That comes to less than $42 a month. And for a limited time, the one-time enrollment fee is waived for the first zone you purchase.
After your first 30 days of camping each year, a modest daily usage fee of $3 will be charged, to defray the costs of our amenities.
Enormous savings
Here are some examples of the kind of savings a Zone Camping Pass holder can experience:
