ygrps-yiv-1744410588 v0003a* {} I have a 95 Intrigue that the fan motor has been leaking fluid . Has anyone had this problem and found how to repair. What brand of motor is it and can parts be gotten?

Thanks Brian

You are the second one this summer with this problem on an older unit. If it was mine I would look at replacing the shaft seal. Much cheaper then a new motor and much easier to find. Do not remember feed back from the other owner as to his solution, if resealing fixed it. Seals will become hard and loose sealing ability over time and temperature. The fan motor should last as long as the pump or longer as it does not always spin at engine speed as the hydraulic pump does. The motor should have lots of life left unless you have very high milage. A hydraulic shop, if not a good truck shop, should be able to reseal without problems. Leonard Kerns97' Magna 5418

Brian,

I have a 2000 Allure and the fan motor went out in July. Since then we have discovered that the fan motor and mounting were custom built for the CC Dynomax chassis and are no longer available. My Cummins shop talked with Or Mtrcoach, Specialty Logistics, and Cummins Cal Pacific. This Cummins shop found a fan motor that will work, but it requires a specialized mount. I don't have the brand or part number but will in a few days. The motor costs $1400.
I know many of you will say a fan motor isn't that specialized. Well, I've been round and round on this for six weeks and have to say that yes they can be that specialized. FWIW, the way they found the replacement motor was a mechanic noticed that the old fan motor was similiar to a city bus he was working on. Now, they're finally making progress on what we thought would be a rather straight forward repair.
