Here's a couple of tips on dressing up the ole coach in an effort to squelch the desire to buy a new one:
Stainless steel exhaust extensions: I noticed that the new coaches come standard with ss tips. I called CC parts and they quoted me $150.00. I bought the same thing (I believe) through JC Whitney catalog. Available on the net. $49.95!! Easy to install. Remove the rusted old steel one by undoing the c'clamp. Install the new one!
Rusted and ugly generator exhaust pipe: I replaced my generator exhaust pipe with a chrome one by using a pipe wrench to unscrew the old one, then cut the threaded end off with a hacksaw. I bought the proper length of pipe and curved exhaust tip from a muffler shop and had them weld the threads on to the new pipe.
I then took the pipe to a chrome shop and had it chromed for $95.00. I re-hung it with stainless steel hangers to prevent rust and I have to clean it frequently.(of course)
Polished radiator grille and air intake grille: I found that the radiator grille and air grille are both made of aluminum. (my coach is a 99) I took them off and had them stripped and polished at a local shop. In Salt Lake, our shop is called Metalmasters. They charged me $80.00 to polish both pieces. They look pretty snazzy and, of course, require polishing together with the wheels, etc. whenever.

What are my hobbies? Golf and motor homes! What else?

Larry,

I went to a Mack Truck repair facility. I got a piece of chrome exhaust pipe they had from a wrecked truck. I paid $10.00 for a piece that was long enough to be cut to do 2 exhaust extensions. You are right. It does make the coach look better.
