Just finished our first 3100 mile shake down trip. A few questions popped up from 'opportunities' ahead:)!

Quote
Velvac Mirror - I believe we had a partial fracture on the mirror mount to the arm when we purchased the rig (the glass was broken, and had to be replaced). About 75 miles from home, our right mirror fell off and started swinging, and banging from the wire cord. Gorrila Tape to the arm for the rest of the ride home. I will do a bit more research, but it looks like the attachement points are not replaceable.
This is a standard 2030-1 series. Considering changing to the 2030-3 series, with the three view mirror visibility.

Good places to buy these? (none on Ebay today)

Anyone do this upgrade, and any surprises on the wire front?

Thanks,
Smitty

Quick update that Oregon Motor Coach suggested I call Northwest RV Supply.
While they did not have the standard two mirror head unit for my rig available, they did have the three mirror units. I was going to upgrade down the road, so why the heck not now:)! Our arms were a bit pitted from the 1st owner's neglect, so going to replace the 6" arms and call it a day. Not going to upgrade, or add another switch for the top mirror adjustment. We'll set this manually, as with the lower concave surface mirror.
Putting the rig away the day, I took a closer look and see where the pot metal brakcet had broken before, and been patched with a metal glue of some kind. I feel lucky the head did not fall off while 1500 miles away!!
If anyone needs parts for their CC's, I can tell you I felt Joe at Nortwest RV Supply was fair with me. They buy surplus parts at auction, from the main manufacturer's.

Best to all,
Smitty
