While at a recient rally, the subject came up about the various filters and the change intervil.
On a 2007 Intrigue there was no evidence of a coolent filter.
On my ISC 350 it is mounted just forward of the oil filter but not on subject coach.
The coach manuals have it listed as one of the filters by CC part number but none of the illustrations of the engine have it shown.
From a maintenance standpoint does this mean the only option is to use test strips and add DCA as needed?

James M. Green Intrigue 11021 doing this for a friend.
The objective here is to understand where it is located on or off the engine if it does exist.

Was it eliminated with the advent of ISL design?
I do not have the coach # or engine # but could get it if needed to obtain an accurate answer.

James, I have a coolant filter, but my 2007 Intrigue has the C-13 CAT. The filter is located below the coolant overflow reservoir and is mounted on the back side of the house, just below the two door back hatch. The C-13 option may have included the coolant filter as part of the upgrade package.
I just went to CAT Extended Life Coolant and use a blank filter to keep crude out of the system. It is a simple spin off/on job as there are also coolant shut off valves. That is my only annual coolant maintenance. Sweet!

My only annual maintenance is to change the filter, an easy spin on/off as there are off valves on either side of the filter.

James, I have an ISL, the coolant filter is next to the Oil Filter.

I agree with Lee. Using Extended life is the answer but not cheap. You then can forget the Coolant adative spin on canaster. On newer Cats and Cummins they are removerd Years ago they were used to stop Liner pitting. Ken Retired Caterpillar tech. 99 Allure 30356 Always use fresh! test strips to check coolant once a year and check your Rad. cap!
