We will begin the trek south in a few weeks from Bellingham, WA to Yuma, AZ, and need diesel service along the way. Oil change, filters, etc. for the C13 and gen, lubes etc. A mobil service convenient to some RV park would be great, but recommendations on any first rate service centers would be appreciated. Oregon would be nice.

I have been using Speedco in Aurora, OR at exit 278 for the past few years. First come, first served and it usually takes an hour. Chassis lube, oil, oil filters, and fuel filters, etc. I had them change the rear end oil last time.
There facilities in Corning and Ripon also. Check them on line for list of services.

I would recommend Speedco for oil change services. Aurora, OR. is just south of the Portland, not far off I-5 and there are several RV parks in the area. Look at there service and cost @ Speedco.com.

Take the coach back home to Junction City - lots of choice there. Carrier & Sons; Oregon Motor Coach (?) and others will suggest more.

I would.use Peterson CAT in Eugene, OR. They know CC inside out. Shop is super clean. They will check for software upgrades also. I always get my annual service done there or Western States CAT in Meridian, Idaho.
Both are super shops.

I used Peterson's too. There are multiple locations. The one I used was 1-2 miles west of I-5 on the road to Corvallis. They are excellent/knowledgeable, clean, treated us well and gave the CAT RV Club discount. They did my valve lash and an oil change on my C-13. If you're ready for the valve lash ask about the special discount. You can park next to the lot overnight.

Lee,
What is the "valve lash"?

Bradley, Valve Lash is the specified clearance between a valve stem end and a rocker arm. Caterpillar recommends this be done every 30,000 miles. Caterpillar says Valve Lash Adjustment -
- Maintains proper engine operating temperature
- Maintains optimal fuel economy
- Reduces oil consumption
- Maintains rated horsepower output of the engine
- Extends the life of the engine
On coaches like ours, in most cases, the Tech will need to get at the engine through the bedroom. CAT was running a Valve Lash and Oil Change special this summer, in the $300-$400 range for both. I don't know if that is still on.

Peterson's sounds good. Would the location just off I-5 be considered Albany, OR?

Yes, that's the one, on Hwy 34. There is a nice City Park Campground in Lebanon, we also used, you could stay at. I will get you details off group.

Cummins Coach Care at Oregon I-5 Exit 199 is good also; they are not mobile but you can park in their service lot overnight for free (water and 50 amp power, dump located on lot). Or, you can stay on the other side of the freeway at Premier RV Resorts for a quick trip in and out.
