Today I installed the rear starter relay in the engine compartment ( what a bummer to get to.) I'm am pretty sure I didn't mix up the wires, but I have a no start. There are three possibilities. 1) I mixed up the wires, 2) if there is a fuse, I may have blown it, 3) new relay is defective. I have a schematic which shows 2 wires less than there actually are. It also shows a 30A fuse which must be located under the dash. If there is any one on this forum with the same coach as mine, I would be more than thankful if you could email me a picture of the rear starter relay to make sure the wires are connected correctly. Another possible, learned the hard way, is the main battery cable fuse. Use a volt meter and found where you have 12 v. and where you don't. A very simple and quick spark can blow the main fuse. Only way to tell is with volt meter.

The solenoid should have 4 post. 2 big for battery cables. Two small. One of the small is ground the other will be hot when the key is turned. The ground will probably be close and easy to find going to a screw on a metal frame piece, wire maybe black. The hot wire, maybe red. Can someone turn the key while you take a volt reading on the wires, or use a 12v light bulb. Disconnect them to be sure of what you see. The other two wires could be for a echo charger. May go to a black box. The box will have three wires, one ground, one each to each battery post. Think that is right, no, that is not quite correct. Just worked on mine, already forgot, but this gives you and ideal. One battery post will be hot all the time, other only hot when solenoid engaged. If this checks out, take a small hammer and tap several times on starter solenoid mounted on the starter. See if it starts then. If so, replace starter solenoid.

Before you replace the starter solenoid trying cleaning all the wire connections going to the starter solenoid and the studs coming out of the solenoid, this seemed to work for me, just remember to kill the power from chassis batteries first.

Hello Paul, to late, already changed the rear starter relay yesterday, and that is where I got in trouble. I do have a hot wire going to the right side of the large post, but don't seem to get a signal from the relay under the dash. Going to pull off the driver side kick panel to see if one of these wires have an in line fuse which possibly I have blown. On the other hand, I am still not sure if I messed up the wires. I can't go by the schematic that came with the coach since the wiring is different colors. By the way, after I changed the front relay the engine started OK, so I figured I change the rear one also since it was the original one.

Could be a bad ignition switch... possibly is not sending the 12Vdc to the coil of the dash relay...
Check to see if you have 12V at the input terminal of the key switch... if so, turn the key to the "start" position and see if you have 12V on the wire going to the dash relay coil... If you have 12V at the dash relay coil, but still no "start" signal at the relay in the engine compartment, you have a bad dash relay...
