Several weeks ago, I posted a request on the forum for help in getting the ride height reset after coming across a rough stretch of road in Maine. As always, excellent help from forum members got me back on the road.
However, I wanted to pass along some info that might keep someone else from getting ito what happened to us.
What started our problem was a rough road into Bar Harbor, Maine. We lost a nut off the bottom of one side of the spacer between the front sway bar and the frame and consequently lost the lower bushing and roughed up the threads on the spacer. Not sure if this caused the misadjustment of the ride height or if something hit the brace that connected to the valve control. However, the final result was a ride that nearly knocked the fillings out of our teeth (even on a moderately smooth road). I was able to get a bushing to replace the one I lost when the nut came off - even though it is not really a hard enough rubber compound - and get the sway bar reconnected properly. Moby Dick now rides like it used to and should get us back home.
The one thing that concerned me is that the nuts on the spacers that connected the sway bar to the frame were not locking-type nuts. If you haven't checked, it might be worth a short trip under the coach to check. I firmly believe that if the nuts had been locking, I would not have had the failure to start with. Moby Dick has the Holland/Neway IFS. I replaced the lower nuts on both sides with locking nuts and will make sure to use locking nuts on the top as well when I replace the bushings after I get back home.

John and Linda
