Just had my Hurricane furnace serviced and now it smokes and smells. Replaced nozzle and filters. I have a new fuel regulator on order too. If anyone has experienced and solved this problem, please respond.

Paul,

Had the smoking and smell once and decided it was the fuel pump. The system is pretty straight forward and easy to trouble shoot. So far, the only parts I have replaced are the filter, nozzle, and the fuel pump.

It is important not to use any fuel additive when you have a diesel furnace system, just a thought.

I had the exact same problem on my HYDRO-HOT after a factory servicing in Albany, OR.
THis was at the CC REUNION.

Complete service and the next day smoke, smell and more smoke. Tried everything brought in another tech in Junction City. More money and time.
The outcome, COMMON KNOWLEDGE FOR FACTORY TECHS. They occasionally have a rash of bad nozzles. The slightest bump can ruin a nozzle. Drop the box, crate etc.
I replaced the New Nozzel with the old one. Everything was back to normal. Total cost near $250. Only to find out I should have left the thing alone.

Mine smoked for a while after servicing and a new nozzle. Made me wish I hadn't serviced it, but then with a little time it quit.
