Hi again,
The powere steering is out since it is difficult to steer the coach. Any input as to why. We are being towed to Memphis to have repairs. Now on an exit waiting for the tow. We just replaced the water pump in Billingham. They also fixed the slide channel just as it was suggested by the group. Another problem is the recharge of the battery. We drove for at least 4 hours before the power steering problem. We had to stop on the side of the road as the engine heat lit up. The generator went on at 7. We stopped at 12. The intellemeter presently indicates 67% full and seems to be the reading whenever we unplug and leave a park. What battery is that reading based? We just replaced the 2 big ones. Do we need to replace the AGM? Thanks for your input.

Hi Marianne,
Sorry to hear you are having trouble with the coach. What model coach do you have and which engine and trans are you running?

Sounds like to me that you may have belt problems, either too loose, or broken completely. Loose belts can cause this, and many other problems.

Hope it is only the belt.

Pretty positive it will be a belt issue, they need to be very tight, and in place.

Have you had the PTO inspected for wear and the wet kit conversion installed. To lose power steering and have a Eng overheat sounds like the PTO /HYD pump shafts have possibly failed

Thanks, Dale. Mino just pulled on it. It is tight. Maybe there is another missing belt. If it is the PTO, what is that? I have been reading about the wet kit but do not know what it is. I also know if there is a yellow box near the transmission we have a PTO that needs a kit. Have not checked the tranny. The tow is here and is having difficulty raising the coach. Is he kit difficult to get?

I am not much help on the PTO issues, only the newer coaches have that problem. Mine is old..

Thanks, John and Dale. I really appreciate the inputs. We have the extended warranty, so hope we are covered, and it is an easy to find and do a fix. Give me an idea of what we are looking at in terms of repair. Thanks, Marianne
