I have a new awning spring part number 2002211 for a 21' awning. If anyone needs this part let me know or I will return it to Zip Dee. Cost was $223.00 but I will sell it for $170.00. I was told by one RV repairman that I needed a new spring so I bought it and when we went to repair it the spring was not broken, only needed a few more turns.

When I was in Minn this summer the RV next to me did have a broken awning spring and was told by sources that the spring was not available separate any longer. Probably well worth your asking price.

Thay have all the parts! have your model and S/N handy also if lucky like me have the parts book that came with the Awning and read them off the P/N. Im a do it yor selfer! There is a silver tag on your arm with all the info. I rewound my spring after unwinding the spring replacing my lock end's, Be very careful and Zip Dee has info. on how many turns to rewind it again be careful this job is not for the man off the street. Guess it all depends who you talk too. I do remember the guy saying a complete awning was available. Go figure ! AL

Al, do you still have a CC? I thought you bought a Matathon.

Hi all,
I have a question on my awning. I have the California Free awning with a wind sensor. A 20 amp fuse will blow if I try to use it electronically. I am thinking that there must be a manual way of operating it. Any ideas on the short and on the manual operation?

Today, I was unable to retract my driver's side awning. Neither the remote or the wired switch worked, though the other awnings responded appropriately.
I ended up raising the awning manually and I ran five wires around the awning to hold it together and keep the canvas from flapping. I could not find a way to 'roll up' the awning and I needed to leave my site. My 'jerry-rig' worked but is not as good as fixing the problem.
Either the motor is gone or there is no power to the unit - but I was unable to determine which.
Any ideas? Any similar experience? This is a Brustor awning and is original equipment on my CC.

You can buy a 120 volt sensor at Home Depot and check to see if there is power to the motor . Make sure the awning power switch is on and you can access the power cord at the end of the awning.

Is the awning really 120 ac? I would expect 12 vdc.

My awning is Carefree, but 12 volt and I would suspect yours is too. I have had the tube motor fail in the over the door awning, and I have had a tube motor fail in the front MCD electric blind. All very similar motors and basically cheap junk; went the same as you and had to manually bundle up the canvass and wire/cable tie the lot together. Check 12 volt to the motor, maybe a needle into each wire at the motor and then a meter across them? Good luck!! If motor OK (i.e. no power to the wires) then back to switch, had one of them go too, assume you checked fuse already?

Kevin,
We are on our way West , in Ft Colins, CO, and my drivers side awning will not retract. IOther awnings work normally. The awning says Brustor on the side.
Is there a dealer or repair facility here - or in Salt Lake City where I will be for a week? Otherwise, I'll wait to get out to Oregon but that won't be until august. I have the awning and cover tied together with wire in the meantime.
Hope all is well with you.

Bristle is a Belgian company. Difficult to drop by for service. I did not find a dealership in the US. A good awning tech should be able to help. Good luck.
