I lost the e-mail (Dave and Karen ???) asking me fo rthe weights on my Intrigue (11142). Since we have the bigger slide and smaller bays under it, I expect that later rigs are not so heavy on the left side:
FRONT 12,100 lbs.
REAR 19,900
LEFT 16,580
RIGHT 15,420
Left Front 6,120
Left Rear 10,460
Right Front 5,980
Right Rear 9,440
After reading the messages on this site for some time, I realize that (Inquiring Minds Want To Know", so: I weighed the rig fully loaded with driver and rider in place, full tanks. I weighed the total, front, back, and left side, then calculated the right side.
A chassis guy at CC (who got into big trouble for telling me this and shall remain nameless) told me that side to side balance should be within 400 lbs. and that anything over 600 lbs. created handling problems!!!! Since mine is 1160, I knew that I had found the problem .
My first instinct was to put lead ballast in it, but Doug Rutherford prevailed upon me not to do it. I'm glad he did.
After playing with shock settings, ride height, tire pressure, front end alingement, and changing the front tires to Michelin XZ2 "steering tires", it handles and tracks the way I want it.
