Our 2004 Allure had very little usage before we bought it this year. About 13K miles, mostly to go to college games in Fresno from San Diego.
One of my wife's ongoing questions of all Motor Home builders - is why they use light color solid carpets as much as the do? She feels that medium, to medium dark, with some paterns would be the way to go.
We do try to be careful about taking our shoes off when in question. But, when you are lugging back and forth from say the car after shopping, it's hard to always do so. We alos have runners, which help.
Our rig came with a light biege carpet. Seems to be a good qality carpet. She would like a darker color. I would like to not go thru the expense of removing the carpet. (probably just the front, as the bed is somewhat protected from wear)
So, how about carpet dye? A professional application of a medium brown dye is what I was thinking. Any negatives to this from those of you that may have tried this before?
Long range, we will probably replace the non slide front part of the carpet with tile or wood, trying to tie it in with the galley tile that is in place now. But, I would probably keep the slide carpet in place. (Trying to avoid removing this if I can do so.)
Appreciate any thoughts,
Smitty
