Title: CC Service in Eugene + Leaks

Earlier posts have mentioned an RV repair business (father-son possibly) in Eugene/JC area that did good work. Does anyone have a name for that or recommend another repair site in the Eugene area besides at CC service ?

Also, a leak has appeared in the basement bin forward to the service bay. The water seems to enter on the street side, then travels along that bay's forward wall all the way to the curb side of the bay. I suspect the slideout as the source. Any input and advice will be appreciated.

Hi

There is a firm on the north edge of Eugene .
Carrier and Son. However the son is a child.
They have done work for me , removed carpet and tiled the LR to match kitchen. Also other mechanical work. VERY PLEASED!

Hope this helps

I just repaired a leak in my slideout. Water was coming in at the top of the slideout. You could see a gap between the outer skin and the frame. When you close the slideout it pushes the outer skin from the frame. Country Coach sent me a repair kit that takes the presure off of the outer skin when you close the slideout. The repair kit also included sealant to seal the gap

Thanks Cal: My leak seems to occur both, when the slide is extended open AND when it is retracted in the closed position.
I'll check for the gaps at the top in both in / out positions....
The rubber vertical boot both fore and aft appear to be OK....Don

Don,
I can give you some of the areas where I had leaks that were stopped (some after multiple attempts).
Other possible spot to look might be any unsealed screws through the floor of the basement compartment.
I know you said it looked like it was coming from the street side... maybe the slide but though I would give you all of my identified problem areas. Good luck.

Brings up a good point.
I would like to see a folder set up for the group to post repair shop name, address, etc., that have given better than average service. What do you think?
I have always tried to use: CC dealers/authorized warranty facilities, FMCA listed shops or relied on RV'ers recommendations. But having the info handy when needed is not always possible.
If members would post their favorites in a folder (maybe our moderator would set up the folder) we could look up shops as needed. I would be more than willing to consolidate the info into a spreadsheet or text file at some point. Right now I am traveling and have limited access to the web. :(
If this is of interest to anyone, let me know. Again, my access is limited right now but I'll catch up at some point.

Excellent idea. I have a wordpad document consisting of pasted emails for repair facilities both good and bad I copied from various emails. Very limited as of now.

Setting up a folder for service centers is a great idea. We have gone to some really good ones and would like to share the info with the group. Dale Affinity 6129
