I'm in the process of purchasing a 2005 Allure. When walking on the one-piece fiberglass roof, it feels like there are airpockets under the skin and does not feel solid. I know the roof is made from vacuum laminated materials but shouldn't the roof feel more solid? I've asked the dealership to check it out but I'd like to know more before I check with them. Thank you.

I weigh about 240 and when I walk on my roof it is amazing how solid it is.

I have a similar roof, Do you feel this around A/C units or other roof openings? Just wondering? Our roof is solid no matter ware you walk! Ken 99 Allure 30356

Not around roof fixtures. It's probably reinforced at those points. I inspected the interior ceiling really well and there's no signs of a leak or any other problem. Thanks for the post.

Bob,

CC "replaced" the roof on my rig, by overlaying the one-piece shell on top of the existing Filon roof. (Allure and Inspire roofs are the same.) The techs walked the new roof with me and pointed out that it was a "floating" roof. My roof feels exactly as you describe.

Bob,

I wouldn't worry about your roof, I have a 2008 Allure owned it from new and the roof on it feels the same as yours, been like that since I collected it from the factory with no leaks.

Thanks, Jay. It gives me peace of mind that everything's OK up there.
