Arrived safely in Indio at MCC. Coach ran like a top, and temps for the transmission varied from 178 - 194 generally. For a brief moment the temp rose to 199 but soon fell back to the range mentioned. When we hit California, and our speed went from 67-68 to 64, the temp fell at least 5 degrees.
So all seems normal. I did check everything and noticed that the dip stick was not tight; indeed, it was just inserted and not secured. So fixed that prior to departure.
Our temps have not seen anything higher than 210 or so since we got the separate transmission cooler in 05. Prior to that temps over 300 were commonplace (and acceptable according to Allison and CC - that was in 2004 and 2005.) However, we had previously owned 2001 Affinity 5957 and since the engine and transmission were basically the same, neither CC nor Allison could explain to the history major why the trans temps were 100 degrees higher. We became a squeaky wheel and they finally added the trans cooler.
The 5 radiators would require a War & Peace length novel to explain. Some were clearly CC's problem diagnosing our issues, some were actually faulty products. A to-be-unnamed female CC employee was the primary problem, and her actions caused CC to spend lots of $$$, and as importantly her actions caused valued customers (me and my wife) to become "never again" CC people. Heck of a way to run a business was our appraisal. But we all know that the Howards, their lackeys and 2004 was not a good year at CC.
So the coach ran like a top, until we arrived and noticed a substantial fluid leak of some sort... but that is tomorrow's problem! :>(
