How much work is it to change an Invertrex (manufacturer went out of business) to a Trace? Can it be a do it yourself job?

From what I understand, there would be:

a) a panel modification to accomodate the new Trace control panel.

b) A genset control wire that needs to run from the Trace inverter to the currently location of the Invertrex genset controller (located over the door with the control panel). This, I understand, can most easily be accomplished by running the wires from the Trace to the Bedroom Remote control switch (where I presume it uses those wires for genset control to the main panel instead of a remote start).
Don't know other details so advice would be welcomed should I decide to make the change.

Why would I want to change?

a) Invertrex inverter MUST be on to change batteries from shore power. Trace inverter does not have to be on to charge batteries.

b) Better genset control -- clock which blocks running during quiet hours.

c) Trace has easier programming of settings without without having to use a touchtone phone to program (including limits of charging when connected to various shorepower amps).

d) Of course, when it breaks.....
