Well, we got our first trip under our belt. 2005 CC Allue Siskiyou Summit.
Let's see 1 lost wedding ring (mine of course), 2 cuts to the top of my head(hit the bottom of the slides twice), 1 fuse box section melts, 1 tv screen doesn't work. Now my questions?
The fuse box in the back above the circut breaker got hot #19 didn't pop the fuse and melted the Bussman fuse box. The wire #19 got hot but all other wires were fine. At the time we only had on a few lights to the front of the coach passanger side on. Any thoughts?
I hooked up our direct tv box and the sound worked through the surround sound system (the satelite worked) but the picture would not come out on the tv. The tv channel would not change from 57 and no matter what I did it would not work. Any thoughts?
I think it's time to call a repair guy.
Oh, the drivers galley slide wouldn't retract because of the fuse box problem but a friend jumped the fuse and we got it in and made it home.
I hope it gets better from here......

Hey John - Can't help on your actual problems - just don't know the answers!! But - congrats on the fist trip!!!
These coaches, and this thing called RV'ing - is always a work in progress. Both a mental, and in your case, a "Head's On" (ouch!)opportunity to learn, stay busy, and stay active:)!
You went out, you came back - great trip!!!!!!

Sorry, no answers for any of your questions, but congratulations! The maiden voyage is always an adventure. The first nights on our first and second trips were cold and dark - no lights, no heat. The good news is we learned a lot on both trips, figured out how to make a lot of things work (thanks in no small part to so many awesome new friends in this group!), and we're a lot more comfortable!
I'm confident that the great people in this group will help you figure out each of your questions, as they have ours.
It will get better from here!

What type of remote do you have for the TV. Were you trying to change the channel by remote or hitting buttons on the TV?

I have to reprogram all my TV's whether digital or CRT to receive the channels it can "see".
Usually it is under a Menu of adjustments dealing with Antenna and selecting either Cable or OTA. Then select either automatic or manual option for selecting the relevent channels to watch.
Using the Manual option you should be able to select the channel your sat signal is transferred on.

For the TV: After the satellite locks on, Check to make sure the Sat button is pushed in on the Winegard distribution switch (ours is over the passenger seat). TV has to be on channel 3. remote has to be on DirecTV. (to the left).

re the slide: we read somewhere that opening a window opposite the slide would aid the slide in retracting. We now always do so. the slide motor doesn't have to work so hard to bring in the slide. We open the passenger side window for the LR slide and the bathroom window for the BR slide.
Let us know the outcome of the fuse problem.

John, congrads on your first trip. With the TV on and I understand you have sound .....get the remote for that TV and menu through the programs to find Video 1 input which probably is turned off.

I tried with the Panasonic TV remote which worked the TV volume and turned it on & off and than on the TV itself volume and on & off worked but no channel change. I tried changing the TV menu to DTV, Video1 & 2 but no luck. The coach came with four remotes 2 Panasonic's , one jamco? surround sound, and one big one with a screen on it which I didn't try. I hooked up the wires at the top of the box containing the entertainment equipment to our direct TV box and the sound would come thru the surround sound but no picture no matter what I did.

My stock Panasonic TVs required my DirecTV remote to be programmed so it was talking Panasonic's "language". I did not have the handbook for either the DirecTV gadget or Panasonic, but did find them on line. There may be a way for the remote control to automatically scan for and put in the proper code, but I had to do it manually. I now have a label tape note on the remote so I will not have to look that up again.

When I got my coach virtually nothing worked, except the chassis, engine, transmission. Took me a year to get it up to speed, but the price was dropped accordingly, and I am technically inclined, sort of. The Bose sound system defeated me, and I took the head unit out for replacement at some future date. I really don't want another learning curve just now.
Folks on here are very helpful, and we all benefit. Occasionally one of the true experts on a particular system will chime in with some solid information when the uninformed guesses (I am guilty too) get too far afield. This is truly a wonderful resource that might not have developed if we had CC to depend on - now we will have the best of both worlds.
