My wife and I are going to fly down to Tampa for a few days in early February to check out rv resorts. We are probably going to spend most of the time around Ft. Myers. I am hoping the group can give me some feedback on places to look at and what to avoid. Our ideal place would have marina access to the Gulf.
Regard,
Steve

I would highly recommend taking a look at RiverBend Motorcoach Resort located east of Ft. Myers on the Caloosahachee River. A thoroughly beautiful Class A only resort with 15 boat slips and access to the Gulf and Lake Okeechopee.

I assume you will be stopping by Lazydays RV Sales to see everything they have and when you are there they can tell you everything about RV Campgrounds and Parks in the area as they are located just outside of Tampa in Seffner, Fl.

Bare in mind, the long run down the river to the gulf from River Bend. Aprox 40+ miles. There are no-wake zones also. Nice place to be if you like the river.
I know of no places with ready, quick access to the Gulf with marina. You might want to look at Gulf Waters RV resort, aprox 3 miles to Ft Myers Bch and then rent a slip in a marina for your boat in Ft Myers Bch. Gulf Waters is very nice and you can drive, walk, ride your bike or take the shuttle to the beach.
