My hydronic heating system is now 10 years old and in need of replacement and would like some input on a suitable replacement hydronic system.

Andy,
Give these guys a call. They manufactured the original Hurricane. I think the new systems will fit with the existing plumbing.

Andy,
What is going on with your Hurricane heater that is giving you the feeling that it needs replacement?
Anyway I suggest that you join the HydronicHeat group and pose the same question there. You likely will get some good info from there as well.

I got an estimate of about 5.5 K to replace my existing Hurricane with ITR's new Oasis system. They said it would fit in existing space, but would have to add two 110VAC sources for the electrical part of the new system.

Check out the propane system Precision Temp, much less noise. One of the circuits can come off of the water heater and the other an aux if you have one. I've been investigating doing the same on my 2K Magna.

Earl, There was a scrap yard parting out a CC Affinity. Believe on e-bay, about a month ago. Might have a Hurricane back in that passenger bay ???
Maybe someone else might have more info to help you.

This must be a brand new option. I don't see any info on ITR's web site about an electric heat option.

Never mind. I found it.

Thanks for the info Al. I got my Hurricane working great now. I don't winterize and keep the Hurricane running to keep the tanks and plumbing from freezing, and I was interested in the Oasis since it had electric elements which I figured would be a lot cheaper than diesel fuel, thats why I got the estimate from ITR.

Great to hear your repair was successful. Did you see where Tom (truk4U) tracked down the posting ?
