Good morning,

We have a problem with the strike button inside the Norcold refrigerator over heating. On the hinge side of the left door there are two plunge type switches on the door - When the door is closed they hit two strike buttons mounted on the inside of the box. The lower button is overheating to the point that you cannot touch it and the plastic panel behind it feels warm. When switched from electric to LP the overheating stops. This problem started about the time we had the Norcold recall kit installed a couple of months ago.
Any ideas about the cause of the problem and a fix? Thanks for the help.

A loose wire connection can cause arcing and overheating. I would check the wire connections, especially to the switch.
