My wife and I will be traveling to the south for the first time in our motorhome. Our first stop with be the hot springs. Ideas on where to stay, what to see, how long should be plan there. Our trip will be 8 weeks total, seeing kentucky, Tenn, Louisiana, Miss and Alabama. Any and all help would be great. Even space numbers to ask for in can't miss RV parks.
Same time, will offer the same for Las Vegas, if we can be of any help. Know the town well. Might even be able to get free show tickets for many of the 2nd tier shows.

Mike & Anne,

I can tell you of some places to stay in LA., MS. & FL.
Lakeside RV Park in Livingston, LA. is about an hour from Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Relative new park on situated on a nice lake. You can drive to New Orleans on the causeway over Lake Pontchartrain. Web site http://www.lakeside-rvpark.com/ (http://www.lakeside-rvpark.com/).
Majestic Oaks RV in Bioxi is another nice park. About a mile from the beautiful Biloxi beaches. Lost of history. http://www.majesticoaksrv.com/ (http://www.majesticoaksrv.com/)
If you decide to travel in to Western Florida there is another great park in Navarre, FL. Emerald Beach RV Park. http://www.emeraldbeachrvpark.com/ (http://www.emeraldbeachrvpark.com/). Great beach and nice drive on Island to Gulf Breeze and Pensacola,

Just some places we stayed and liked.

My husband was born in Hot Springs and we go there yearly. Lake Catherine State Park is nice (they have redone it). They book up fast tho so book early! Another place we like for location is Lake Hamilton RV Park on 270 (Albert Pike). Reasonable prices, not fancy, no shade and sites are close together. Try to reserve a site on the lake. They seem to be spaced better than the ones in the middle. Check to see if they have horse racing at the Racetrack. there is a tower you can go up in on the mountain. Go see the small gangster museum. Go to the NPS bathhouse for a tour and massage. Go up to the brick promenade above town. While in Arkansas, go to the Crater of Diamonds state park and dig for diamonds. Fort Smith Arkansas is a great city to visit. Trolly rides, old train station and museum. Don't miss Petit Jean Mountain State Park. The old lodge built by the CCC is there with a restaurant. Beautiful views from up there. Look for the hummingbirds outside. Enjoy your trip! you will love the south. Don't miss Natchez MS either.

MIKE & ANNE Here is probably the most user friendly travel book out there.. All the places that are big rig friendly. I have personally used this for many years and don't leave home without it. One of the best parts of buying the book are many RV parks offering coupons, like pay for two and get the third night free.

With this program you now have the book for free after one or two nights.

Here is the link. www. Big-Rigs-Rv.com AL

Mike and Anne,

We grew up in Louisiana and visit every year. In north LA there is Shreveport/Bossier City with numerous casinos. In the central part is Natchitoches, the oldest town in the Louisiana Purchase. In the south is Lafayette and Breaux Bridge - real Cajun country. In Breaux Bridge we enjoyed Poche's Fish Camp. Very quiet, rustic, friendly CG with all sites on very large fishing ponds. Of course, New Orleans is a must just to see the French Quarter. A steamboat ride on the Mississippi and beignets at Cafe Du Monde at the edge of Jackson Square would be great. If we can be of any assistance give us a call - we will be there for an extended stay this summer.
