My remote controller that unlocks my door on my 2004 Inspire does not unlock the door. I have changed the battery on the controller but no luck. Where do I go from here?

Check the wiring cable between the door jam and the front door about 18" above the floor jam. If this 4 conductor wire fails, then the automated strikers won't work.

I checked out the four pins and they were connected tightly to the wires. Now what?

Where is the other end of this wire usually found? Actually mine has about 12 conductors.

Walt:

Is it the controller?

Do you have two controllers? Did they both work? (and now not so much...) You could try to re-program it, or get a new one.
I always have spares.

Is there a fuse somewhere? If so where is it located? Where it the receiver for the door lock located?

Walt,

My 2004 Allure has a fuse for the alarm system which includes the lock function. It has been several years since I had to deal with it so my memory is not as clear as I would like. I think it was one of the small ATC fuses attached to the back wall of my battery bay. I do remember that I found the location on my chassis schematic.

Good luck.
