Hi

I have the Trace remote rc7gs inverter controller/display. The remote display keeps going dead then will come back on at completely random times. The rv2012 inverter charger keeps working all the time and will invert when I switch on at the main unit in the battery bay. Do you think the remote is going bad and where coulod I find another one?

You can't find one. They're no longer manufactured. The replacement, the RC/GS control panel doesn't work with the RV2012 inverter unless modified. Chris Snyder in Tucson replaced mine with the RC/GS but had to send the remote control to an individual in San Diego who modified a circuit board inside, shipped it back to Chris and Chris installed it. Chris and I did a lot of looking for the earlier model and never could find one.

Have you tried removing/reinstalling the cable plug a few times. It could be just a bad connection.

Hi All

I just went thru this with my Inverter Remote yesterday..
Per: Pat Fuge at Fuge Electronics in San Diego, I needed to reset my inverter.

Thurn off all AC power to the inverter.
Disconnect the telephone wire from the back of remote.
Disconnect the 12volt + wire to the inverter.
Wait 1 min. reconnect the 12 volt + wire.
Turn the on off switch at the inverter to on.(Normally Off.) Check the voltage and amp values at the remote.
If OK then reconnect the telephone wire at the back of the remote.

I did all of this and it reset the inverter and remote.
All is well at this time

We are in our 13th year of filltiming and any time the inverter is not needed it is turned off as we boondock most of the time. When going down the road , DW is usually on the computer loading geocaches at our next stop, so the inverter is on.
