Today I replaced my house batteries and did not connect the new house batteries prior to leaving the place where I purchased them. I had the house batteries disconnect switch in the disconnect position. When I attempted to start the coach, nothing happened. No clicking no indication from the dash instruments that I had even turned on the key. Just for fun, I turned on the house batteries, still nothing. I then used the boost switch and was able to start the coach. This does not seem like normal operation to me. What do the house batteries have to do with starting the coach?
I've studied my wiring diagram and the house batteries go directly to the inverter, the Heart interface cable, hydraulic slide, and to the battery disconnect solenoid and from the solenoid to the front run 12 volt panel and to domestic power distribution.

Check your chassis battery connections, maybe the negative terminal cable isn't connected. It sounds as though you used the house batteries to start the engine when you used the boost switch which connects all the batteries into the equation.

As I now read my original post I see it isn't clear about my house battery connections. The positive cables to the house batteries were connected but, because of the change in configuration of the post locations on the batteries, no negative cables were attached to the house batteries. The house batteries could not have 'played' in this game.

Sounds like you hitting the boost switch tied the house and chassis (start) batteries together, energizing the start circuit even with the house negative cable unhooked. In effect, your chassis (start) batteries became the source for your house to come alive while you had the switch depressed. It would be like hooking jumper cables from your start batteries to the house circuit, bypassing the house batteries.

Thanks for getting back with your responses on this. After thinking about what everyone said, I decided to stop looking at my electrical diagrams and go out to the coach and chase battery leads.
Now I feel like the biggest dummy in the world. I confused the two battery trays because of the domestic battery electrical diagram. I did not disconnect the house batteries but the chassis batteries instead. If it is of any comfort, I now know the engine will run without chassis batteries if you can get it started.
Problem solved.
