Friends, has anyone with an early manufactured ISL 370 or 400 with the Cummins "CAPS" Cummins Accumulator Pump System had Fault Code #277 show up. In later manufactured engines they changed the fuel injector system to their "Common Rail" system which does away with this crappy "CAPS" unit.
Fault Code #277 covers the Injection Control Valve which is one part of the Cummins "CAPS" high pressure injection pump.
I had my engine put on the computer and this Fault had come up only once, so I had them clear it as Cummins generally says if it has shown up 3 to 5 times don't worry, ha, I worry. A remanufactured "CAPS" unit is over $5,000 to replace. Not sure is just the Injection Control Valve itself is replaceable.
